Upbeat Laura Dern: Dealing Well with Divorce

Taking care of some business, Laura Dern was spotted arriving at an office building in Beverly Hills yesterday afternoon (October 11).

The “Jurassic Park” actress looked to be in surprisingly good spirits as she chatted on her mobile phone while passing her keys off to a valet and headed inside.

Dern didn’t seem to mind the fact that earlier this week her husband of five years (and father of her two kids) Ben Harper filed for divorce.

TMZ reported that Ben sent a process server to give Laura the divorce papers, but Dern’s nanny ended up taking them as Laura wouldn’t come to the door. Mr. Harper is said to have surprised his soon-to-be-ex-wife with the news. (Hollywood Gossip)

Seemingly unable to wade through their differences, Ben Harper has filed for divorce from his actress wife Laura Dern.

With the move coming after five years of marriage, the former couple cited irreconcilable differences as the reasoning behind the court filing.

Having turned in the paperwork seeking separation on Friday (October 8), the documents tell that Ben and Laura have actually been split up since January 2010.

With both parties seeking joint custody, Ben and Laura are parents to a 9-year-old son (Ellery Walker) and a 5-year-old daughter (Jaya). (Hollywood Gossip)
