Quote Of The Day

mileywenn2879451__opt1.jpgMiley Cyrus

"She's 17. Imagine if you had a camera following you around. Do you remember what you were doing when you were 17? In a way, I feel really bad for her. She can't just be a stupid teenager, because everything she does is so scrutinized. She's 17! And she's probably thinking, 'Screw you all!' She's been a good girl for so long and she's rebelling now."

Becki Newton is pregnant — and the happy news is causing some changes in character on her new show, Love Bites.

“She plays a virgin [in the pilot episode], so we have to make adjustments to that,” explains NBC’s executive vice president of current programming Vernon Sanders.

The show has been pushed back to midseason to allow for the former Ugly Betty star’s pregnancy, as well as to resolve casting issues and find a new executive producer, USA Today reports.

This will be the first child for Newton, 31, and husband Chris Diamantopoulos, whom she wed in May 2005.

Michael Lohan is delighted his daughter Lindsay has befriended Kim Kardashian as he believes the socialite can save her.

Lindsay Lohan's father thinks Kim Kardashian can save his daughter from her partying lifestyle.

Michael Lohan is delighted his actress daughter has befriended the socialite - who invited her to spend this weekend with her in New York - because he believes the brunette beauty can lead her back down the right path.

He said: "Since the time I first met Kim two years ago in New York, I've thought she was a good influence on Lindsay.

"Even back then, and Kim will tell you this, I told her that I wanted her to befriend Lindsay so that she could help steer her in the right direction. I mean, look at Kim and what she's accomplished. If you watched that reality show 'Double Exposure'. the Lindsay you saw on that show is not the Lindsay people remember at the pinnacle of her career."

Michael - who has repeatedly claimed his troubled daughter is addicted to prescription drugs - has little contact with the star, who turned 24 today (02.07.10), but is hoping to be able to meet with her when he flies to Los Angeles for her probation hearing next week.

He added to RadarOnline.com: "I hope I have the opportunity to take her to dinner for her birthday. I hope this year only brings the best people and things into her life. But the greatest gift for her will be for her to get through her court case coming up.

Michael continued: "Lindsay can have her life back. She, more than anybody, has the power to get back on track, but she just has to do it. And I know she will."

Lohan 'Punched By Waitress'

LINDSAY LOHAN's 24th birthday celebrations in Los Angeles ended in agony in the early hours of Friday (02Jul10) after the actress was allegedly punched by a waitress.

The Mean Girls star took a group of friends, including Paris Hilton's ex-boyfriend Doug Reinhardt, to a nightclub in the city on Thursday (01Jul10) to mark her birthday the following day (02Jul10).

But the outing allegedly ended in a brawl, with Lohan taking to her Twitter.com early on Friday morning to claim she had been attacked.

She wrote, "A waitress just hit me - punched me for no reason."
A witness confirmed the alleged incident to Us Weekly, and claimed the unna

The source says, "The waitress has a history with Doug Reinhardt, and Lohan was hanging out with him. She was jealous, and out of nowhere, the waitress punched her in the face! Doug didn't want any part of it and went to the other side of the booth. Lohan ran out."

Claims from Britney Spears's former bodyguard that the pop star allegedly hit her two sons with a belt are false, sources tell PEOPLE.

"Britney is quite the opposite – she doesn't discipline them enough and she will do anything to keep the boys happy," says one source close to Spears. "There are issues with Britney, but her abusing the boys are not one of them."

Fernando Flores told a British tabloid that he had witnessed Spears, 28, hitting her children, Preston, 4, and Jayden, 3, in March or April 2009, but another source tells PEOPLE the allegations are untrue.

"It's ridiculous what the guy is claiming. It never happened," says the source.

The Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services sent social workers to the singer's home, according to RadarOnline, but the visit was routine since California law requires a welfare check anytime a report is made to child protective services.

"Everything is fine," says the second source. "Britney has done nothing but be a great mom to her kids."

Spears's rep did not return requests comment.

Who Is the (Suspected) Sexy Spy Next Door?

Who Is the (Suspected) Sexy Spy Next Door?

Like father, like daughter? If so, Anna Chapman – the stunning, alleged spy-next-door among the ring of espionage suspects recently pinpointed by the FBI – may just be trying to follow the family business.

This Manhattan-based, potential real-life Bond Girl is actually closely related to a former KGB agent, reports New York's Daily News.

As nine of 11 suspected spies made a court appearance Thursday, Chapman's eyebrowing-raising family ties were revealed. Her true identity? She's actually Anya Kushchenko, daughter of Vasily Kushchenko – a diplomat who worked in Russian embassies in Africa.

Alex Chapman, her British ex-husband, couldn't quite keep the family secret. Speaking about his ex to the Daily Telegraph, he recalled how Anna's father, who is still a top diplomat in Russian, was "scary" and always taking extra precaution – even when he was driving.

Suspicious Behavior

"He always seemed to have a lot more security than the other diplomats," Alex tells the paper. "He had a Land Rover with blacked-out windows, and there was always one car in front of it and one car behind it."

The couple's 4-year marriage ended in 2006 when his wife's line of work became too much for Chapman to handle.

"Toward the end of our marriage, she became very secretive, going for meetings on her own with 'Russian friends,'" he says. "She was transformed into someone with access to a lot of money, boasting about all the influential people she was meeting."

That's when Anna took her routine to the States, moving to New York in 2007 to take advantage of "business opportunities," according to Chapman – who also says that Anna had previously complained about Americans and expressed her dislike of their accents.

But the allegations don't faze Chapman: He remembers his ex-wife as daddy's little girl.

"I felt she would have done anything for her dad," Chapman says. "When I saw that she had been arrested on suspicion of spying, it didn't come as much of a surprise to be honest."

Anna Chapman is currently being held without bond.
