Amanda Seyfried

Biography

Wide-eyed actress Amanda Seyfried is best known to audiences for her hilarious performance as slow-witted but popular Karen Smith in the 2004 film Mean Girls.

The former child model had graduated from high school the year before, though throughout her secondary education Seyfried had been acting on the... popular soaps As the World Turns and All My Children, and by the time Mean Girls producers cast her for her big break, she was an experienced performer.

She followed up the film's success with a role on the popular series Veronica Mars, playing the title character's murdered best friend in a series of "Laura Palmer-esque" flashbacks.

She also took a role on the popular and controversial series Big Love before signing on to star in the big-screen adaptation of the popular Broadway play Mamma Mia!, a musical about a bride-to-be searching for her real father, set to the tunes of the popular Swedish disco group ABBA. ~ Cammila Albertson, All Movie Guide «Hide Full Summary

'Abduction' Star Lily Collins Preparing For A Tough Job: Three Months With Taylor Lautner!

Lily Collins  was among the many celebrities who attended the 2010 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night. Speaking to MTV's Josh Horowitz on the red carpet, she revealed that she's got a tough job coming up. Collins will be starring with "Twilight" star Taylor Lautner in "Abduction." And what does that mean?

"Three months of hanging out with Taylor... I don't know what I'm going to do," she said. It all depends on whether or not he'll be shirtless. Will he? Collins comments below...

'Three Musketeers' To Shoot With James Cameron's 3-D Cameras, Star Logan Lerman Says

Two adaptations of Alexandre Dumas' 17th-century adventure tale "The Three Musketeers" are racing toward the big screen, but only one will be presented in 3-D. And as MTV News has learned, that version — directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and starring Milla Jovovich, Logan Lerman, Orlando Bloom and Christoph Waltz — will not only be shot in three dimensions but will utilize the camera technology pioneered by James Cameron for "Avatar."

"Shooting in 3-D. We're not converting," star Lerman told us last week during the run up to the MTV Movie Awards. "We're really going to be popping out at you.... We're using the Jim Cameron technology and all that. It's going to be nuts. It's going to look really cool. And trust me, from everything I've seen, it's going to blow people away."

There's no set start date for shooting, though producers have an eye on a 2011 release date. For now, Lerman is busy training for the role of d'Artagnan, the young risk-taker who dreams of becoming one of the famed Musketeers.

"I just started two weeks ago and it's pretty intense learning the fencing," Lerman said. "Just hours in the gym every day. It's an intense process."

The training process, it seems, is rather more intense than the casting process. Coming off his turn as the sword-swinging son of Poseidon in "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief," Lerman didn't even have to submit to a formal audition.

"It was the weirdest process for me, because usually there is a process," he told us. "Usually you go through auditions and you really try to fight for the role. But they came to me and they were just really invested in the idea that I can do it. I met with Paul and we hit it off and we were like, 'Yeah, let's make an awesome film together."

The movie is expected to stay true to the swashbuckling soul of the classic novel while infusing the story with a contemporary sensibility and the visual effects with the latest tech Hollywood has to offer. But will there be a radio-friendly single to accompany the flick, as there was for the 1993 version starring Charlie Sheen, Kiefer Sutherland, Chris O'Donnell? Who can forget that #1 Billboard single, "All for Love" — which doesn't exactly hold up almost two decades later — courtesy of Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart and Sting?

"I haven't heard anything, but it'd be cool," laughed Lerman. "I gotta pitch that one now. A new theme song." (moviesblog.mtv.com)

‘Blind Side’ star accepts trophy at Spike TV’s Guys Choice Awards

LOS ANGELES — Sandra Bullock made her first public appearance since revelations of her husband's extramarital affairs, taking the stage at a Hollywood awards show Saturday night and comparing her recent life to an "explosion."

Bullock, best actress Oscar winner for her role in the football film "The Blind Side," showed up at cable channel Spike TV's Guys Choice Awards to accept an entertainer of the year trophy.

"Let's be honest here, just for a moment. We're all going to be honest, right?" Bullock said onstage as she held the antler-shaped award.

"Did I win this for being entertainer of the year, or did I win this because of the spectacular I.E.D. (improvised explosive device) explosion that became my personal life?"

Bullock was wearing a close-fitting black dress and received a standing ovation, according to USA Today. She was surrounded by soldiers in uniform standing at attention, as she accepted the Troops Choice Award for Entertainer of the Year.

Bullock joked that she would sing for the troops but that they had "seen enough pain."

"I would like to do something I've always wanted to do in person, which is to thank you, to thank all the men and women that make it possible for me to wake up in the morning free," she said to the soldiers.

Bullock is expected to appear at the MTV Movie Awards Sunday night to accept the Generation Award, according to a report on the MTV website.

The actress has filed for divorce from motorcycle maker and reality television star Jesse James, after he admitted to cheating on their marriage.

The disclosures of extramarital affairs by Bullock's husband of five years surfaced in the media soon after she won her first Oscar in March. The couple had just adopted a baby boy, whom Bullock is now raising on her own.

Florida man reportedly tried to sneak on to ‘Dancing With the Stars’ lot

LOS ANGELES — A Florida man accused of stalking Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson says he is not guilty because he is insane.

Robert O'Ryan told a judge he wanted to enter the insanity plea during a hearing Monday in Los Angeles.

The 36-year-old is scheduled to go on trial Tuesday on felony burglary and stalking charges.

He is accused of going to a studio where Johnson was performing on "Dancing With the Stars" in an attempt to meet the gymnast.

Authorities say they found two guns and love letters to Johnson in O'Ryan's car.

He could face nearly four years in state prison if convicted. The judge warned O'Ryan that if he is found to be insane, he could be confined to a state mental hospital for much longer. (Celebrities on Today)
