Openly gay singer was reportedly paid $1 million to perform at event

Singer Elton John received a $1 million fee to perform in front of 400 guests celebrating radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh's fourth wedding Saturday night, People Magazine reports.

Limbaugh, 59, wed Kathryn Rogers, 33, at the Breakers hotel in Palm Beach, Florida.

Limbaugh is an outspoken opponent of gay marriage while John is openly gay and in a civil partnership with male partner David Furnish.

Celebrity guests at the wedding reportedly included former Bush adviser Karl Rove, baseball slugger George Brett, former New York City mayor Rudolph Giuliani, and golfer Tom Watson.

According to People, the couple met six years ago, while Rogers was running a charity golf tournament and Limbaugh was in the process of divorcing for the third time.

The Palm Beach Post reported that as many as 50 private security guards were hired for the wedding.

Web site Gawker.com hired a plane to fly over the wedding site towing a banner that read "Rush: Congrats on your 4th marriage. XO, Gawker." The saying on the banner was chosen from suggestions made by readers. Rejected suggestions included "This time he really means it," "Wishing you months of bliss," and "Congrats on #4 from those of us who can't have 1."

The magazine reports that the newlyweds took Limbaugh's private Gulfstream jet to a honeymoon in Mexico and Africa, among other locations. (celebrities on today)

A rep for Celine Dion confirms that the 42-year-old is currently pregnant with twins via in-vitro fertilization.
After suffering a miscarriage last year Celine underwent six in-vitro fertilization attempts before finally becoming pregnant. She is now 14 weeks along.

Celine and her 1000-year-old husband Rene are the parents to a 9-year-old son named Rene-Charles. Rene says that they’re “ecstatic” and that “Celine is just hoping for a healthy pregnancy. She was hoping for one baby and the news that we are having two is a double blessing.” (gossipbeast.com)

Ex-Managers Hit Ke$ha with a $14 Million Dollar Lawsuit

According to former managers inexplicably successful Ke$ha failed to honor a “commission deal” that helped her land a major contract, and now they are seeking $14 million in a lawsuit.

D.A.S. Communications is claiming Ke$ha agreed to pay them 20% of her earnings if they secured her a contract. Ke$ha’s lawyers dispute the claim saying that part of deal was that D.A.S. had 12 months in 2007 to find her a record deal, but didn’t, so Ke$ha doesn’t owe them anything. The deal Ke$ha currently has with RCA/Jive is independent of D.A.S.

First of all, who does one sue for releasing Ke$ha into pop culture consciousness? And I seriously doubt she has $14 million from just a couple of hit singles. (gossipbeast.com)

Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz Are Engaged – and Expecting!

Reps for Alicia and music producer Swizz Beatz confirm the two “are expecting a baby and are engaged to be married in a private ceremony later this year.”

 

It will be the first marriage for Alicia and her first child. Swizz Beatz is father to Kasseem Jr., 3, and son Prince, both from previous relationships. As you know Swizz left his ex-wife Mashonda Dean for Alicia. She naturally didn’t it take it well and is planning to write a tell all book. In the meantime Mashonda has taken legal action against the producer, claiming he’s a deadbeat dad and owes her lots of money.
